TNT Horror Contest Entry

In June, I decided to start posting some of my work on Wattpad. If you’ve never hard of it, it’s a place where indie authors and young writers can share their work and receive some form of feedback, such a up-votes, being added to reading lists, and comments. If you don’t have an account with them, I recommend one, either for sharing your own work or for reading.

A few weeks ago I received an announcement via mass email that Wattpad had joined forces with TNT and was having a horror writing contest. The grand prize is $20,000 and the story being purchased by the TNT network. This would be an exciting prize, but contests are just like anything in writing; a lottery. However; this one was free to enter and I qualified, so why not give it a chance? If nothing else, it could give my writing some visibility.

I’ve submitted a short story, and now begins the waiting.

The winner will not be announced until January 17, but until then stories will go through stages depending on how many votes they receive. This is where I’m going to shamelessly plug that if you read my story and like it, please share it with others. If you share it on social media, please use the tag #TNTHorrorContest.

Okay, shameless plugging over.I’m working on the next installment of The Hunted. I’m also going to be diving into Book Three. Thank you for reading!

In other news, I’m working on the next installment of The Hunted, which is going to add a new dimension to the storytelling. I’m also going to be diving into Book Three. Thank you for reading!

Book Launch – Darkness Falling: Shadow of the Seeker

Good morning! Today is the big day! Book Two of the Darkness Falling Trilogy has arrived.

Darkness Falling: Shadow of the Seeker is now available on Amazon for Kindle and Kindle Unlimited!

Here are the links:

If you were hoping for a paperback version, I had some issues with CreateSpace. The paperback should be available shortly; within the next week. I’ll post another blog announcement once it happens.

I would like to thank everyone who has followed along with my blog to this point in my publishing journey. Also, a big thank you to everyone who has purchased or picked up Soldiers and Slaves for free. If you do read the book, please remember to review (even if you hate it!) because feedback will help me improve and/or know what I’m doing right.

I am now hard at work at the third and final installment – Darkness Falling: Secrets of Syerset. I hope to have it done by early 2017! I’m also doing another edit of Soldiers and Slaves due to feedback on typos. It just takes some time to get done. After that, I have many other stories to tell and intend to keep writing and publishing.

Thank you again and have a fantastic weekend! *

Special Edition: Liebster Award

I’ve never heard of the Liebster Award before, but I’d like to thank Bridgett Morigna for nominating me. It was very unexpected to be nominated for anything, especially on a Tuesday.

The reason for this award is for new bloggers to promote each other. It’s given to bloggers with less than 1,000 followers by other bloggers.

The Rules:
  1. Thank the person who nominated you and link to their blog.
  2. Answer the 11 questions your nominator gave you.
  3. Tag 11 bloggers with less than 1,000 readers.
  4. Think of 11 questions for the bloggers you have nominated.
  5. Let them know you have nominated them through social media or their blog.

Here are Bridgett’s questions and my answers

1) What music gets you in the mood for writing?

I prefer music that doesn’t have lyrics. I am a singer as well as a writer and lyrics distract me. I particularly like songs written for movies and video games because they suite the mood of my stories.

2) In your opinion what is the best thing you’ve written so far?

The best thing I’ve ever written is a poem I wrote for my grandmother after she passed away.

3)Have you accomplished your goals for 2015?

Yes! I set out to publish Book One of my trilogy and I did that.

4)What is one thing you want to see happen in 2016?

I’m hoping to stay on track to publish Books Two and Three next year.

5)What is your favorite book you read this year?

I’m going to have to say Storming by K. M. Weiland is topping the charts for my reads this year.

6)Coffee or tea?

Tea usually, but sometimes coffee is good, too.

7)Have you visited anywhere exciting in the past year? Where?

I’ve only visited imaginary places in 2015. I think The Commonwealth in Fallout 4 might be my favorite.

8)What is your favorite thing about blogging/writing?

I like making up new worlds and the characters that live in them.

9)What would you do if you won a million dollars?

I would buy a reasonably priced house and then do some traveling; maybe a castle tour of Europe.

10)What book would you like to see made into a movie?

I would actually really like to see the Disc World books made into a movie or television show. I think it’s such an in depth creation with a lot of memorable characters, plus it’s funny.

11)What is your current favorite tv show?

I’m actually really enjoying Elementary right now.

Now for my own nominations:

Bright Write Now

Okay, okay. I know that’s not 11 but I’m fairly new at this and I don’t know of more  people with less than 1,000 followers. (Hopefully the internet gods will not smote me for that.)

My Questions:
  1. Have you always wanted to be a writer?
  2. What is one thing that inspires you?
  3. Do you have any other hobbies besides reading and writing?
  4. What was your favorite movie of 2015?
  5. If you could pick one song as your theme song, what would it be?
  6. Dogs or cats?
  7. What is your favorite fictional world?
  8. Would you rather go to the forest or the beach?
  9. What is the main thing that causes writer’s block?
  10. What is your favorite season?
  11. What is your favorite genre?
